Hingga September 2024, Cakupan Vaksinasi Rabies Kota Denpasar Capai 64.791 HPR

Pemerintah Kota Denpasar menunjukan keseriusannya dalam mencegah penularan rabies. Hal ini terlihat dari cakupan vaksinasi rabies Kota Denpasar yang telah sukses menyasar 64.791 Hewan Penular Rabies (HPR). Demikian diungkapkan Pjs. Walikota Denpasar, I Dewa Gede Mahendra Putra saat menghadiri Puncak Acara World Rabies Day Tahun 2024 Provinsi Bali di Kawasan Pantai Mertasari, Sanur, Minggu (29/9).

Dewa Mahendra yang didampingi Kadis Pertanian Kota Denpasar, AA Gde Bayu Brahmasta menjelaskan, capaian tersebut tak lepas dari berbagai upaya yang dilaksanakan Dinas Pertanian khususnya Bidang Kesehatan Hewan dalam mendukung percepatan vaksinasi HPR di Kota Denpasar.

Dikatakannya, Pemerintah Kota Denpasar sangat fokus dalam pencegahan kasus rabies di Kota Denpasar. Hal tersebut dilaksanakan dengan berbagai upaya secara berkelanjutan.

“Kami snagat konsen dengan pencegahan rabies, beragam upaya terus kami laksanakan untuk mendukung optimalisasi pencegahan rabies,” ujar Dewa Mahendra.

Lebih lanjut Gung Bayu menambahkan, pada tahun 2024 ini, populasi HPR, khususnya anjing di Kota Denpasar diprediksi mencapai 82.195 ekor. Dimana, dari jumlah ini, pelaksanaan vaksinasi rabies ditargetkan mampu menyasar 90 persen dari total populasi atau sebanyak 73.975 ekor.

“Kami targetkan 90 persen dari prediksi populasi, sekitar 73.975 ekor, dan per Bulan September Tahun 2024 ini capaian vaksinasi rabies telah mencapai angka 78,83 persen atau setara dengan 64.791 HPR,” ujarnya

Dikatakannya, untuk mendukung pencegahan rabies tersebut, Tim Dinas Pertanian, khususnya Bidang Kesehatan Hewan telah merancang berbagai upaya. Yakni pelaksanaan vaksinasi rabies secara door to door ke Desa/Kelurahan serta melaksanakan kontrol populasi dengan sterilisasi anjing liar.

Selain itu, lanjut Gung Bayu, pencegahan kasus rabies juga dilaksanakan dengan Kegiatan Komunikasi, Informasi dan Edukasi KIE) tentang bahaya Penyakit Rabies dan resiko yang ditimbulkan. Tak hanya itu, juga turut dilaksanakan Kegiatan Pengawasan Lalu Lintas HPR serta Pembentukan Tim Siaga Rabies (TISIRA).
